Four themes, one lens.

We focus on four themes where our founders have the deepest experience.

A village home and courtyard

Water, sanitation and hygiene

We bring hands-on experience of faecal sludge and solid waste management with urban local bodies: planning, operations, monitoring and the business models that keep services running.

Volunteers handing out relief supplies to children and families at a railway station

Child protection and rights

Every child has the right to be safe, in a family, and in school rather than at work. We have trained police officials, supported Child Welfare Committees, evaluated child protection programmes, and contributed to national procedures and parliamentary consultations.

Health and nutrition

We support programmes that reach mothers, children and workers who are most often missed. Our work covers maternal nutrition, severe wasting, anaemia, iodised salt, tuberculosis, non-communicable diseases, mental health, and sexual and reproductive health.

Education, skills and livelihoods

We study and strengthen how children learn and how families earn. Our founders have assessed digital learning in conflict-affected districts, maker spaces in some states, women-led district transformation, and farmers’ credit needs.

Social and behaviour change: our cross-cutting lens

Most development problems are partly about behaviour: whether a family seeks care, a teacher changes practice, or an official follows a new procedure. In every theme, we ask what people need to know, feel and be enabled to do, and we build that into research and design from the start.
